The large scale assembly technology centre was opened on the Sheffield Rotherham border in 2006 with a vision to provide UK manufacturers with new and innovative tools to assemble their products with increased efficiency and quality. CECA focuses on high value, low volume, difficult to handle components across all industry sectors.

This technology centre is a division within the internationally acclaimed University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) with Boeing. The AMRC is a £45 million collaboration between world-leaders in the aerospace supply chain, key government offices and international academic institutions. Key research and expertise at the AMRC includes machining, dynamics, structural integrity, damping, additive processes, fixturing, control systems and composites.
